James is a curious, experienced professional, with a broad background that he uses in supporting his clients to be well rounded leaders. He has worked in the research sector (in entomology), the Australian Public Service (APS) and private sector.
With his background in domestic and international stakeholder management and development of import and export policy for fresh fruit and vegetables between Australia and trading partners, James has a strong understanding of the APS environment. Prior to leaving the APS James re-launched and managed a Public Seminar program. This program ran weekly for 3 years and provided staff with the opportunity to hear from external stakeholders in an environment that promoted networking and learning.
James’ private sector consulting background focused on innovation systems and processes. Helping organisations to design, test and implement culturally appropriate systems for staff to submit their innovative ideas. James has assisted large organisations develop semi-formal mentoring programs where staff could get assistance setting up mentoring relationships to help with their development and career progression.
He has been a photographer and worked at Apple in training, professional development, and sales.
Since 2014, James has specialised in career coaching and facilitation. He coaches individuals in career development, strategy, and change.
As a facilitator James helps groups plan; develop preferred futures; and collaborate. He also coaches professionals to become accomplished public speakers and facilitators.
Personally, James is generous with praise, quick to smile and always looks for the positives in a situation. His values include curiosity, authenticity, empathy, and humour. He approaches his work with an enthusiasm and passion that positively influences colleagues and clients.
